More Smiles

Those are the words of grateful father Dermot Shortt, who shared his experience of the Children’s Intensive Care Unit at St Mary’s Hospital during a fundraising event at Porchester Hall for More Smiles Appeal last week.

Dermot inspired the crowd of more than 240 people to support the appeal when he told them how the team fought to save his daughter Alannah’s life and how she has grown up to be a happy, healthy seven-year-old.

The evening also included a Fine Wine Challenge from Armit Wines, a silent auction, a live auction and a talk from the Children’s Intensive Care Unit’s Modern Matron, Scott O’Brien.

Thank you to everyone who supported the event. You raised more than £125,000 for More Smiles Appeal, an incredible achievement which has given us a huge boost towards our target of raising at least £2million to expand the existing unit.
